David Mateu, 3 times finalist of world tango championship, professional dancer and teacher, began dancing and tango music at a very young age and by the age of 20 had already developed his personal style. He recognizes himself, fundamentally, influenced by the style most traditional of milongueros. David began his training with Gabriel Angió and Natalia Games and further developed his tango by taking group and individual classes with professional dancers and milongueros masters. Among them: Pupi Castello, Eduardo Pareja, Carlos and Rosa Pérez, Pancho Pey, Roberto Herrera, Elina Roldan, Horacio Godoy, Julio Balmaceda, Mingo Pugliese, Javier Rodríguez, Moira Castiliano.
In Buenos Aires David was teaching at the Canning Hall, replacing Gabriel Angio and Natalia Games; at the Argentine Tango School and at the Carlos Copello School.
During sixteen years he was invited to teach in tango schools in the USA, Italy, Spain, China, Russia, Switzerland, Ireland, France, Türkiye, Cyprus, Israel, Brazil, United Kingdom, Greece and Croatia.
In 2018 David settles again in Argentina to continue his career as professional tango dancer and teacher.
At the moment he teaches at La Maleva Tango Estudio, at Estudio el Zorzal, and at Espacio Cultural Julián Centeya for the cultural program of the city government.
